你老的结论都大差不差，毕竟撒克逊人，法兰克人都是日耳曼人。欧洲中世纪虽然大家都说是两希的结合产物，但实际也是按照日耳曼习惯法运行的嘛

这很明显只是一个地缘政治和现实政治的问题。在西班牙的哈布斯堡绝嗣之前，奥地利既没有几个港口，又没有必要和兄弟抢殖民地。在西班牙王位继承战争之后，拿到部分尼德兰的奥地利也尝试殖民，甚至建立了东印度公司，但很显然无法和当时的老牌殖民国竞争。再到技术可以瓜分非洲的时候，没有强力海军和发达信贷的支持，没有国家可以和英法竞争
