The Soviet Union was not an expansionist Nazi Germany, but the two were fundamentally similar. Nazi Germany became the enemy of the world only because of its aggressive expansionist actions. The totalitarian fascist nature of the Soviet Union and Western countries were never meant to be on the same side, but historical circumstances placed the Soviet Union in opposition to Nazi Germany, making it an ally of the West. In truth, this alliance was a source of shame for the West, with nothing to be celebrated or glorified. If the Soviet Union had bordered Germany, Hitler's most intelligent move would have been to attack the Soviet Union first, with Western countries merely watching, and possibly even helping Germany fight the Soviets. Looking at today's communist countries, such as China, they claim to be allies in WWII as soon as they face Western strikes, trying to drive a wedge between the West and Japan. This behavior is laughable. Totalitarian countries only selectively exploit history without truly understanding its essence, as long as it can deceive people, that's enough. I must clarify that during WWII, the American ally in mainland China was the Nationalist government, and it was the Nationalist government that accepted Japan's surrender on behalf of China, with no connection to the communist regime backed by the Soviet Union.
Today, as some communist countries attempt to expand their influence, they should be wary of meeting the same fate as Nazi Germany.
苏联是没有对外侵略扩张的纳粹德国，二者本质差不多，纳粹德国只是因为其大肆扩张的行为才成为世界公敌。苏联这种极权法西斯国家跟西方国家本来就尿不到一个壶里，只是历史阴差阳错让苏联站在了纳粹德国的对立面，从而成为了西方盟友，说实话，这样的盟友对于西方来说实在是羞耻，并没有值得宣传和引以为荣的东西。如果苏联跟德国接壤，那么希特勒最明智的做法是率先攻击苏联，西方国家只会看戏，甚至不排除帮助德国打苏联。再看如今的共产国家，比如中华人民共和国，一遭遇西方的打击就开始自称二战盟友，并用二战的历史离间西方和日本的关系，这种行为实在可笑。极权国家只会选择性的利用历史，而完全不理解历史的本质，能够用来骗人就够了。我需要声明的是，二战时美国在中国大陆的盟友是国民党政府，代表中国接受日本投降的也是国民党政府，跟苏联扶植的共产政权毫无关系。
如今某些共产国家试图对外扩张，那么它应该警惕成为第二个纳粹德国的下场。
